Pois bem, com o lançamento de Kubo beirando os cinemas, o filmmaker Vugar Efendi, da Inglaterra, percebeu que seria uma ótima oportunidade para voltar 116 anos atrás e mostrar a evolução do stop-motion através de 39 filmes. “Kubo e a Espada Mágica” é um belíssimo stop-motion que conta a história de Kubo, um garoto que vive uma vida humilde em uma cidade litorânea do Japão. Sua paz é afetada quando ele, acidentalmente, convoca um espírito mítico do passado, e então precisa unir forças com Monkey e Beetle, em uma emocionante busca para salvar sua família e descobrir os mistérios sobre seu pai, o maior guerreiro samurai que o mundo já conheceu. Com a ajuda de um instrumento musical mágico chamado shamisen, ele luta contra deuses e monstros, como Moon King e as Irmãs.
